BECOMING MY NONBINARY BODY

A slow becoming.

A slow transition.

as a trans*nonbinary person there is a waiting time of 2,5 (currently almost 3,5) years for an intake conversation on gender-affirming health-care. A long time of waiting and desiring, unable to express oneself as you would like to.

This performance is a reflection on that waiting time. Using everyday objects to highlight the small transitions the body goes through in this period of waiting.

An invitation to question societies prescribed perception of a body. In physically challenging the body to be very slow for over two hours, time and space are created to observe both the body and your own thoughts.

Not creating images of a body at war, in a struggle, in pain, or discomfort, but actively searching for fun, joy, pleasure and liberation.

Because not being seen feels like not being at all.

Because all can exist simultaneously.
